What does the Brick and Block Cleaning Course cover? keyboard_arrow_down

The course covers the basics of bricks and blocks, working with contemporary bricks and blocks, planning and preparing a worksite, identifying brick and block stains, effective cleaning of brick and block stains, prevention of brick and block stains, techniques not to damage brickwork and blockwork, use of environmentally friendly cleaning solutions, and proper clean up and safe storage of equipment and chemicals.

What is the duration of the Brick and Block Cleaning Course? keyboard_arrow_down
  • The Brick and Block Cleaning Course that results in accreditation is held from 8.30 am to 4:00 pm and runs over 2 consecutive days. It has both theoretical and practical components and covers general cleaning and correct identification and removal of all common brickwork and blockwork stains.
  • There is also a short course which runs for 3 hours providing an overview of brick and block cleaning.
  • Those who wish to become an accredited brick cleaner must complete the full course over two days.
  • The shorter course is ideal for attendees who are only interested in gaining an insight into the brick and block cleaning process and associated issues.

The total cost for the following Brick and Block Cleaning Courses are:

  • Accredited Course - $850 (GST free)
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) portfolio (applies only in NSW) - an additional $350 (GST free) on top of the accredited course. This is an optional extra for brick cleaners in NSW who require to obtain a licence.
  • Short Course - $385 (Inclusive of GST)

  • To register for one of our course sessions please visit our course section here.
  • Click on the course you wish to register for to visit the sign up page where you can register, enter your details, pay and receive a confirmation for the course you wish to attend.
  • Registration is only available online.
  • Please note: you must select the relevant website sign up page for the course, date and city.

  • Please note that a minimum of 6 people are needed for each course to run and we have a maximum of 15 spots in each course.
  • Think Brick reserves the right to cancel a course at any time.
  • You will need to provide your National White Card (previously Green/White card) Work Safely in the Construction Industry [CPCCOHS1001A] at the beginning of the course on Day 1 as this is a prerequisite for this course.
  • It is desirable that applicants doing the full course over 2 days have a minimum of twelve (12) months’ work experience in the Brick Cleaning industry.
Do Brick Cleaners have to attend the Brick and Block Cleaning Course to achieve Industry Accreditation? keyboard_arrow_down
  • Brick cleaners are required to attend and successfully complete the course.
  • They will be required to pass a basic classroom/workshop component of the course, followed by an on-site assessment.
  • Brick cleaners will need to make sure that they have a site that they can have their assessment done or it can be done onsite.
