BLOCK CLEANING COURSES

Think Brick Australia runs Brick and Block Cleaning Courses with CMAA, focusing on assisting those who are looking to obtain information on how to clean clay and concrete masonry, as well as treat stains on these walling systems. Please note that this is an industry recognised course and NOT the CPCCPD3029A Remove graffiti and apply protective coatings course.

The course covers working with contemporary bricks and blocks, planning and preparing a worksite, identifying brick and block stains, prevention of stains, techniques not to damage bricks and blocks, effective cleaning of brick and block stains, clean up and safe storage of equipment and chemicals, and using environmentally friendly cleaning solutions.

How do I maintain my Brick and Block Cleaning Accreditation?

It is a condition of maintaining accreditation that an accredited brick cleaner must:

  • attend and successfully complete all brick and block cleaning courses prescribed by Think Brick Australia from time to time for accredited cleaners; and
  • notify us if and when he or she leaves the employment of, or sells, the relevant brick cleaning business listed on our website and, assuming that he or she continues to work as a brick cleaner, provide us with the details of his or her new employer or brick cleaning business (as the case may be) and his or her new contact details.

Terms and Conditions of Brick Cleaning Accreditation listing

To maintain its listing on our website, a brick cleaning company or business is required at least every two years to:

  • confirm that it is still providing brick cleaning services;
  • notify us of its current contact details; and
  • prove to our satisfaction that it still employs an accredited brick cleaner.

Brick Cleaning Warranties

Builders nationally who use accredited brick cleaners listed on Think Brick Australia’s website will have their brick cleaning work protected by a warranty by the manufacturer of the bricks that were cleaned.

Block Cleaning Course Dates

The brick and block cleaning course dates for 2024 are being confirmed. Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney will have courses operating in February.

In 2024 we will be offering the long stream (2 day) course which results in an industry-recognised accreditation, as well as the short stream (1 day) course. The short stream course does not result in accreditation, and is useful for builders, manufacturers, and brick layers. We are also offering a refresher course for existing accredited brick cleaners looking to renew their qualification.

The long stream course is 2 days long and provides a pathway to becoming a Think Brick Australia recognised accredited brick cleaner. It consists of theoretical and practical components. The short stream course goes for 4-5 hours over one day.

If you would like to gain an overview of the brick and block cleaning process, our online brick and block cleaning module could be an option for you. The introductory online module is useful for anyone with no prior knowledge or experience of brick and block cleaning. To access the online module click here.

We also deliver company presentations addressing specific issues of interest. These company specific presentations vary between 1 to 4 hours and provide general, detailed or a mixture of information on brick and block cleaning. You inform us what you are seeking, and we prepare the presentation accordingly.

Please note that this is an industry recognised course and NOT the CPCCPD3029A Remove graffiti and apply protective coatings course.
