The Concrete Masonry Association of Australia (CMAA) is the peak body that represents Australia’s concrete masonry manufacturers. Concrete Masonry covers bricks, blocks, pavers and retaining walls.
CMAA in association with Think Brick Australia delivers the annual Think Brick Awards that rewards innovative architecture in concrete masonry. CMAA presents two awards – the Kevin Borland Masonry Award and the Bruce Mackenzie Landscape Award – each award offers a cash prize of $5,000 for the best design in each category.
CMAA is governed by a board of directors elected by CMAA member companies. CMAA’s National Technical Committee monitors, develops and researches concrete masonry industry technical issues and provides direction and support to Standards Australia that develops Masonry Codes and Standards
CMAA develops Masonry Design Courses for undergraduate and master’s students in association with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and the University of Wollongong (UOW).
CMAA works closely with the clay industry to support and endorse the Australian Brick and Blocklaying Foundation (ABBTF), that trains brick and blocklaying apprentices.
