The Golden Trowel Award is a competition allowing block-laying apprentices from across Australia to build a pre-designed concrete masonry block structure in a ‘race against the clock’. The structures will be built across one heat per team on day one, with finals to take place the following day. Before the heats begin, each team will be provided the same design brief and will then have 3 hours to build the structure before judging.
The Golden Trowel Award is designed for teams of 3 from anywhere within Australia. The teams must consist of 1 teacher and 2 student apprentices (1 stage II and 1 stage III apprentice).
