Stage 1 of the new junior school at Waverley Christian College opened in 2017 to a full cohort of primary students. Located at the college's new Narre Warren South campus, the two-storey facility is designed with large open learning spaces on each level.
Four designated year-level learning spaces are located on the ground floor and six on the first floor. These learning spaces offer great visibility into and between spaces, and large glazed sliding doors allow them to be opened up to each other and the central areas.
Stage 1 of the junior school was designed to allow for a future extension eastward, with the capacity for an additional ten designated learning spaces and staff workspaces.

The masonry wall, featuring explicit colour pattern and texture, complements the vibrant white and yellow facades and roof of the new buildings. The blocks were also chosen for their in-built water- and stain-resistant technology.

The detailed patterns and the use of two colours on the separate walling enhance the building’s function, creating a fitting setting for the young creative minds that will be learning in the building for years to come.
