The Grand Central Shopping Centre first welcomed patrons from the Darling Downs region of Queensland in 1996, immediately taking its place as the region’s largest shopping mall. While the centre was functional, the call for more space lead to a series of continued expansions to this important shopping district.

The external sections of the $300 million redevelopment feature a striking plan. The design ensures the finished structure and landscaped area convey a contemporary aesthetic and feel that complements the tenants.

The inviting, thriving outdoor spaces utilise approximately 4,000 square metres of Adbri Masonry’s Euro Pavers, which were produced in special made-to-order designer colours and aggregates, before being finished with a slip-resistant honed surface texture. The paving was laid using a visually striking 600 mm x 300 mm linear Euro format and a complementary 300 mm x 300 mm paver. The finished redevelopment has seen the shopping centre double in size to approximately 90,000 square metres, meeting the needs of local businesses and the consumer community.
