At the Saltwater Community Centre in Point Cook, the physical expression of the external form and materiality adopted, references the context of the adjacent wetlands and coastal reserve. Croxon Ramsay Architects utilised Adbri Masonry’s Euro Silver Honed concrete pavers to extend the grain and context of the rugged costal environment into the main circulation space of this facility. The introduction of topography as a relief from the relentlessly flat Wyndham landscape is defined with a sequence of low height retaining walls constructed with ADBRI Designer Masonry Ivory Blocks, again reinforcing the costal context of this facility. Croxon Ramsay Architects worked with Xylem Landscape Architects, Melbcon (Builder), Adbri Masonry’s Contracting Service team (paving) and Lawler bricklaying (retaining wall) to achieve the successful outcome.
